America's Keswick is a faith based organization offering a serene, peaceful haven to meet both spiritual and physical needs. America's KESWICK serves the local community and public at large to meet the needs for rest, refreshment, recreation and renewal.

Crane has worked closely with America's Keswick over the past several years, in planning for growth as well as upgrading and expanding their existing facilities

Brooklyn P&DC Roof Replacement

Brooklyn P&DC Roof Replacement
The USPS Brooklyn Processing & Distribution Center roofing system is being replaced with a modified asphalt built-up membrane system to correct failures due to the age of the existing system. The entire system encompasses approximately 500,000 square feet of roof surface.

Chatham Main Post Office - Alternate Quarters

Chatham Main Post Office - Alternate Quarters
This is a typical facility upgrade project for one of over 50 such upgrades which Crane provided investigation, design, and construction phase services for the USPS over the past 25 years.

This particular project included relocating the retail portion of the Chatham MPO to an alternate location.

Delbarton School - Emergency Power System

Delbarton School - Emergency Power System
Delbarton School is operated by a faith based Catholic Benedictine religious order. The Morristown campus consists of many facilities including: Benedictine Monastery, church, retreat center, private high school academy for boys, and various facilities sports and academics.

Crane has worked closed with Delbarton to upgrade their standby electrical system to serve their immediate and future needs.


Dominick V. Daniels P&DC - Various Upgrades

Dominick V. Daniels P&DC - Various Upgrades
Placed in service in 1974, this facility, with 650,000 square feet of highly mechanized floor space and 186 loading dock bays, is the second largest mail Process and Distribution Center in New Jersey.

Over the past 20 years, Crane Associates has been privileged to have provided design and construction phase services for numerous upgrades totalling over $7,000,000.

Elberon Elementary School - Renovations

Elberon Elementary School - Renovations
This is one of two (2) schools included in the Building Integrity and Life Safety Improvements project for the Long Branch School District.

As the prime A/E, Crane provided design and construction services for numerous upgrades to this facility.

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church - Expansion

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church - Expansion
Additional classrooms, meeting and common facilities were required to accommodate increasing demands on the current facility. Since the lot coverage area had been fully developed, the facility was expanded upward by adding a second floor to the Community Center. The new expansion was nested around the existing Gymnasium above existing classroom areas.

Irvington High School - Renovations

This is one of five (5) schools included in the Building Integrity and Life Safety Improvements project for the Irvington School District.

As a sub-consultant to the prime A/E firm, Crane provided design and construction phase services for all electrical, lightning protection, and fire detection upgrades to this facility.

JMEU/Co-Generation Facility

JMEU/Co-Generation Facility
The Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties is completing construction of a new co-generation facility to house six (6) 800KW gas fueled engine generators capable of providing sufficient electrical energy for the entire wastewater treatment plant. Digester gas will be utilized from the current plant process and supplemented by natural gas to fuel the engines.

Crane is responsible for the architectural, mechanical and electrical design and construction phase services for the new co-generation plant.

Linden Roselle Sewerage Authority

Linden Roselle Sewerage Authority
The original portion of this facility was constructed in 1948. Subsequent expansions of the plant were completed in the early 1960s and the late 1970s. Due to aging, the plant infrastructure and Sludge Processing Facilities have deteriorated and become outdated. Crane was called in as a consultant to the Authority’s Engineering firm in upgrading the existing facilities to accommodate changes in the process and to renovate the associated buildings back to first class condition.

Madison Electric - Borough Utility Engineer

Madison Electric - Borough Utility Engineer
The Borough of Madison, New Jersey, owns and maintains its' own electric utility system, purchasing 34.4KV power from the Jersey Central Power & Light Company, now GPU Energy. The installed capacity of the Borough's system is approximately 88MVA and consists of a 34.4KV sub-transmission system, and 4.16KV and 12.4KV distribution systems.

Crane Associates, P.C. has been retained as the Engineer of Record for the Borough of Madison's Electrical Department for the past 35 years.


Montclair State University - Electric Upgrade

Montclair State University - Electric Upgrade
The University’s campus-wide electrical system, originally consisting of an outdated 13.2KV - 4.16KV, 7 MVA substation was upgraded with new 26.4KV PSE&G utility feeders; two (2) 20 MVA, 26.4KV - 4.16KV, 2400 VAC transformers and two (2) lineups of 4.16 KV switchgear housed in a new switchgear building.

Included in the upgrade was the replacement of nine (9) radial feeders which serve approximately forty (40) buildings on campus.

Montessori Academy Expansion

Montessori Academy Expansion
The existing private academy is being expanded to more than double its original size. Design of each system was required to suit the particular Montessori educational philosophy.

New Rochelle, NY - Pelham Branch Post Office
The new one story, 7,000 square feet Post Office facility was designed to be an integral part of the Village of Pelham’s Masterplan for Revitalization. Crane Associates not only met the Village’s stringent guidelines but succeeded in making it a visual landmark, as well as meeting USPS design standards, strict budgetary constraints, and energy standards.


Newark Main Post Office and Federal Courts

Newark Main Post Office and Federal Courts
The Newark Main Post Office building not only accommodates the retail postal facility but also serves as a mail processing and distribution center. The upper floors house several federal courts and associated judge's offices.

Over the past 20 years, Crane has provided design and construction phase services for numerous upgrades and renovations at this facility.

NJ International & Bulk Mail Ctr - Expansion
The New Jersey International and Bulk Mail Center was the first of 21 Bulk Mail Centers constructed throughout the nation. Placed in service in 1973, this installation, with 1.6 million square feet of highly mechanized floor space and 292 loading dock bays, is the largest and most complex Bulk mail center in the country; the largest military gateway in the country and the largest foreign exchange office in the world.

The project's purpose was to expand the existing Bulk building to provide additional space to house new material handling fixed mechanization.

The New Jersey International and Bulk Mail Center was the first of 21 Bulk Mail Centers constructed throughout the nation. Placed in service in 1973, this installation, with 1.6 million square feet of highly mechanized floor space and 292 loading dock bays, is the largest and most complex Bulk mail center in the country; the largest military gateway in the country and the largest foreign exchange office in the world.

Over the past 20 years, Crane Associates has been privileged to provided design and construction phase services for numerous expansions and upgrades. The northeast expansion project includes the addition of 9,000 square feet of floor space by 50 feet high.

South Ridge Community Church - Renovations

South Ridge Community Church - Renovations
South Ridge Community Church is a faith based organization serving the residents of Hunterdon County and the surrounding area with worship and recreation facilities. The main campus also incorporates the facilities of Crossroads Christian Academy, a private school including pre-K through 8th grades.

Crane has worked closed with South Ridge to upgrade their facilities to serve their immediate and future needs.

Summit Main Post Office - Renovations

Summit Main Post Office - Renovations
This is a typical facility upgrade project for one of over 50 such upgrades designed and construction managed for the USPS over the past 20 years. Numerous upgrades and renovations were provided at this facility.

The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has determined this facility as a contributing element in a historic district, therefore all work was required to meet SHPO guidelines.

Sussex County MUA - Admin Offices and Maint Facil
The two story Administration Building wing was constructed for the purpose of housing the administrative offices for the Authority.

The Administration Building was designed as an extension to the then existing Service and Maintenance Building, also designed by Crane, and encompasses a total floor area of approximately 7,000 square feet including general offices, commissioner’s conference room, data management room, accounting room, executive lunch and lounge room, and toilets facilities. The facility includes a passenger elevator and is fully accessible.

This is one of two (2) schools included in the Building Integrity and Life Safety Improvements project for the Long Branch School District.

As the prime A/E, Crane provided design and construction phase services for various improvements and upgrades to this facility.

Window Replacement Projects

Window Replacement Projects
Over the past 20 years, Crane Associates has provided architectural services for the replacement of existing window systems for several clients, throughout the state of New Jersey, including primarily the United States Postal Service. During this time, we have also interacted with the Historic Preservation Office for the State of New Jersey on several occasions to comply with their requirements for rehabilitating windows in historic buildings.

Approximately 35 individual window replacement projects have been completed during this time ranging in construction cost from $15,000 to $350,000 each.
